Western Development Museum

It’s a sure sign that Christmas is on its way when the tinsel begins to fly at the Western Development Museum. The Festival of Trees is back for its 32nd year. This year features 49 trees and 21 Gingerbread Lane displays. The creators were given the theme 2017 Favourite Things. This is a celebration for the whole family. While you browse the decorative lights, your little ones will enjoy face painting and visits from some of their favourite cartoon characters like Moana and Olaf. With the exception of this Friday and Saturday, the show is open 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. every day. There are also special events like the Peter Pan Pajama Party and the Father/Daughter Gala. General admission tickets for the festival $4 – $10 or $25 per family.

Dead Men Don’t Bite        Now – Dec. 17

Persephone Theatre

“Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!” A world of swashbuckling pirates and high seas adventures has hit the stage at Persephone Theatre. Robert Louis Stevenson’s famous tale Treasure Island is the holiday blockbuster for the theatre company. The sets are just as impressive as the action around it as the show is performed on a boat that was custom built for the theatre. This show boasts a huge and talented cast and a story for the whole family (5 years and up). Due to popular demand more shows have been added to the run. Tickets are $27 – $53.

K-Bros Return            Friday

Roxy Theatre

Saskatoon’s gentlemen rockers have returned home to debut their latest album. The Karpinka Brothers received rave reviews for their latest album Talk Is Cheap which was produced by Howard Bilerman a man whose recorded with heavy weights like Leonard Cohen and Arcade Fire. They’ve been out on tour across Canada and the final stop for these K-Bros is home and the city’s newest music venue the Roxy Theatre. You’ll never meet a nicer pair and this is a feel good evening. Tickets are $10.

Pee Pee Partay         Sunday

He’s a newcomer on the children’s entertainment scene but once you listen to a few tracks, you know that Smilin’ Rylan is going to be around for a long time. His latest music video The Pee Pee Dance is huge at our house right now! Smilin’ Rylan is lending his talents to charity this weekend for a special show. Kids get in free and they can move and groove along with the full band and Rylan at the helm. Tickets (for the adults) are $10 and all proceeds go to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.
