Childhood favourite set to hit the stage

Get ready to revisit your favourite childhood comic with some of Saskatoon’s top musical theatre performers. The Saskatoon Summer Players are bringing the whole Peanuts gang to the stage in You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown November 3-6, 2016 at the Broadway Theatre.

This 1967 smash musical is sure to bring back memories of Charles Schulz’s beloved comic strip. Bossy Lucy, piano prodigy Schroeder, Sally the perfectionist and Linus, who just can’t give up his blanket all brought together by their trusty friends Charlie Brown and his faithful pooch Snoopy. “The thing about Charlie Brown is he’s kind of everyman,” says Rob Armstrong, who plays Charlie. “The situations he’s put in, the failures that he tries to overcome, is something everyone can relate to.”

This story is brought to life by vibrant staging, sharp choreography and of course beautiful music. Whether out flying a kite or battling on the baseball field, this is a story for all ages. “The parents and the grandparents who’ve grown up with Charlie Brown, they are going to see so many things that they remember from the comic strip,” says director Kristie Elliot. “I think people are just going to come, bring the kids and enjoy it together.”
