The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra wraps its 95th season with a concert featuring two incredible vocalists. Alto Oli Guselle and soprano Kateryna Khartova will join the orchestra led by conductor Judith Yan Finding Light. It’s a program that evokes reflection, tenderness, and emotional intensity. Khartova called Stabat Mater the most beautiful music ever written. Tickets are $30 – $49.

40 Years of French Theatre

Bust out your neon clothes, tease your hair high and join La Troupe Du Jour as the theatre celebrates its 40th Anniversary this weekend. The 80s themed party will be hosted by CBC Radio-Canada hosts Pascale Bouchard and Manuela Ejake. There will be readings of excerpts from plays, a look back at four decades of French theatre in Saskatoon, refreshments and more. Proceeds will go towards La Troupe’s 40k for 40 years campaign making sure French-language theatre is around for another 40 years in our province. Tickets are $60.

Sum Theatre’s Theatre in the Park is back for another outdoor theatre adventure with The Colour of the Town. It’s the 14th season for this live professional performance the whole family can enjoy together with stops in neighbourhood parks throughout Saskatchewan. This year’s play was collectively created from a story by playwright Jenna “JB” Berenbaum. It follows the people of Taupe Town who are challenged by their young residents to look beyond their current colour preference and embrace all the possibilities. It’s a lesson in democracy full of original music and giant puppetry that we’ve all come to know from this annual summer tradition. Dancing Sky Theatre – Meacham

It’s a prairie comedy with roots that run deep here in Saskatchewan. James O’Shea’s The Red Truck premiered at Dancing Sky Theatre nearly 20 years ago. Now, the theatre is revving the truck for one more ride. This is a show about a family and the turmoil over the future of the family farm. Troy has returned to take over and his dad, Lloyd, thinks it’s a terrible idea. Tickets are $16 – $45.

After releasing his full catalogue on vinyl last year, Corb Lund is taking his hits on a cross-Canada tour and stopping at the Capitol Music Club for two nights. Wednesday’s concert concert will feature tunes from Five Dollar Bill and Hair in My Eyes Like a Highland Steer. Thursday the country troubadour will celebrate Cabin Fever and Horse Soldier! Horse Soldier!. Tickets are $69.
