The Barrelmen are back for the group’s annual holiday shows… A little earlier this year (They usually play Boxing Day). Thes Saskatoon musicians are known for their incredible harmonies and mastery of several instruments as they perform a variety of folk, roots, country, and Americana tunes. This year Sage Hunter will open the show. Tickets are @25 – $35 Thursday is sold out but check online because people’s plans change. There are still tickets available for Friday night.

Gordon Tootoosis Nīkānīwin Theatre is ringing in the season of its 25th anniversary season with an original comedy by local Indigenous comedians Maureen Belanger, Dakota Ray Hebert, Ryan Moccasin, and Daniel Hanover Knight. Leave It To Weavers is takes us to the rez for a holiday homecoming for a set of siblings who have something very important to discuss. All is calm and bright until they hear the sound of hooves on the roof and Anita decides it’s a great chance to fill the freezer. This show is hot off a tour and the cast is excited to perform for you. Tickets are $20 – $25.

You have one final weekend to see Dancing Sky Theatre’s new panto full of culture and laughs. Baba & the Gift of the Kohkum Scarf reunites us with Baba as she’s preparing for Christmas with her family and friends when disaster strikes. How can they celebrate the holidays with no presents? This tale about people coming together to share the season with others is one full of original story, puppetry, music and laughs for the whole family. Saskatoon’s Fireside Singers are back for another year of Christmas Memories. The annual tradition for the choir under the direction of Marilyn Whitehead has been around for more than 50 years. Several guest artists will be sharing the stage with the 100+ chorus members including Thomas Yu, Guy Few, and Allen Harrington. There will be dancers, soloists and a huge, beautiful sound at this show. Tickets are $67.

The group has new music to add to its five albums and the band has been out on the road sharing it with the masses in the past couple of weeks. Now it’s time for a hometown show. Miracle on 34th Street

Persephone Theatre
Persephone Theatre is close to selling out the original run and tickets are going fast for the extension of its holiday production of Miracle on 34th Street. Based on the 1947 film, this story follows Kris Kringle, a man called in to fill in for the intoxicated Santa in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. When Mr. Kringle makes claims to be the real Santa Claus, his sanity is called into question. This is a heartwarming classic for the whole family and stars many local actors including several children from right here in Saskatoon. Tickets are $30 – $47 and note, they’ll be no performances Dec. 23rd – 25th.

They’ve been lighting up the Forestry Farm Park for 26 years this year and the BHP Enchanted Forest is tradition for my family. Make sure you check out all the forest additions, my 10 year-old knows them by heart and is always excited to see the new lights. Tickets are $10 per person or $35 per car.

Light up your Christmas with Glow Saskatoon. Make sure you bring your camera and the whole family to the indoor holiday light festival. As you wander through the light display, the kids can take part in a scavenger hunt following hidden clues to help Santa find his missing presents. If you find them all, you get a prize.
