Howard and David Bellamy have hit songs that have lit up the charts like Let Your Love Flow, Redneck Girl, and If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me)… Just to name a few. The Saskatoon Blues Festival is back this time in warmer weather (previous festivals have been held mid-winter) and things are heating up even further with the addition of shows on Sunday. You can catch acts like Lester Quitzau and Sandro Dominelli, Ollee Owens, The Ross Neilsen Band, and so much more. It’s all happening at The Bassment. Tickets are $40 – $55 with weekend passes for $105.

André-Phillippe Gagnon

He’s considered the number one singing impressionist in the world and André-Phillippe Gagnon is bringing his greatest hits show to our city. Gagnon will bust out some of his favourite musical impressions including We Are The World which was his break out performance on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. He’ll also take on familiar voices lik Mick Jagger, The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis. This show is full of music and laughs. Tickets are $53.

Chopin and the New World

It’s a triumphant homecoming for Saskatoon-born pianist Jerry Hu. Hu made his debut with the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra in 2021 as part of his prize for winning the Saskatchewan Music Associations Shurniak Concerto Competition. After graduation, Hu began his studies at the Glenn Gould School of Music in Toronto. He’s been winning awards for performance ever since and now he’s been invited back to perform this weekend in Chopin and the New World. The SSO will be led by guest conductor Tania Miller and along with Hu’s performance of Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor Op. 11, they’ll Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, Op. 95 (“New World”) and Goulet’s Citius, Altius, Fortius!. Tickets are $32 – $100.

Saskatoon’s pop culture, comic, and entertainment festival has a new brand and an exciting weekend in store for fans. Pop Con YXE will have the cosplay, photo ops, artists and creators workshops that you loved in the Saskatchewan Entertainment Expo. This year’s celebrity guests include Robert Patrick from Terminator 2: Judgement Day fame as well as Lou Diamond Phillips who starred as Richie Valens in La Bamba, Kevin Sussman, known as Stuart from the Big Bang Theory, and many more. It’s a play that took the country by storm! 25th Street Theatre’s Paper Wheat put Saskatchewan on the Canadian theatre map with this show touring right across the country. The play tells the story of the first settlers on the prairie and the foundations of the cooperative movement here in Saskatchewan. It’s all about working together to build a life here on the prairies. You can buy tickets just for the show $20 – $35 or add on a meal before the performance for an additional $45.

Million Dollar Quartet

To close out its season, Persephone Theatre has a Tony award nominated musical that will bring the house down. Million Dollar Quartet is a story about how fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley together at Sun Records in 1956. It’s called the greatest jam session in the history of rock and roll. Tickets are $49 – $55.
