The latest play in the Live Five Independent Theatre season, Mr. Burns, A Post Electric Play, takes you into a post-apocalyptic world where pop culture has turned into sacred myth. This twisted tale’s catch line, “…When all hope is lost, there will be Bart.” Tickets are $27 – $32 and Thursday’s performance is pay-what-you-can.

Kieran Gardner & The Blucher Boys

Just a stone’s throw away from the city, a country musician is making his way in the industry. 17-year-old Kieran Gardner and his band The Blucher Boys have sold out at the Capitol before and they’re returning to the club for this folk-country concert. Tickets are $23 – $39.

Derek Seguin: Life of Leisure

He’s a Canadian comedy star with appearances on Just For Laughs, CBC Radio’s The Debaters, several Juno nominations and is a regular on the comedy tour circuit. Derek Seguin is stopping in our city on his Life of Leisure tour. Seguin is also celebrating 20 years in comedy this year. His stand-up is based on his (self-described) dysfunctional life. It’s full of stories about his children and romantic relationships. Tickets are $39.

The laughs are back in The Comedy Pit. These are clean stand up shows featuring local comedians. It’s a great place for seasoned comics to fine tune their sets and new up-and-comers to give it a try. This week features comedians like Shawn Cuthand, Dylan Jay Williamson, and Andrea Bunnin. These shows have been selling out so get your tickets early. Tickets are $10 – $15.
