Music For The Gut

A homegrown music showcase designed to raise money for Crohn’s & Colitis research is celebrating a decade of good. Music for the Gut was founded by the Hughton family, three of its members live with inflammatory bowel disease. Each year, this concert features top Saskatchewan talent performing rock, pop and musical theatre tunes. To date, Music for the Gut has raised $172,000 for Crohn’s and Colitis Canada towards research. This is an incredible show and it’s all for a good cause. Tickets are $38.

Parents of little ones, who hasn’t taken your little motor enthusiasts to pass an afternoon watching the big trucks go by at a construction site? Now the fine folks at Family Services Saskatoon has put all that joy and wonder in one place. Trucktastic! is an event that brings together construction, service and emergency vehicles, the professionals that drive them and the little ones who are fascinated by them. This is an afternoon full of revving engines, face painting, food, activities and tons of fun for the whole family. Tickets are $5 – $10 and a family pass is $30.

Ukrainian Day in the Park 2022

Grab your lawn chair and make sure you’re hungry for this celebration of culture, music and… of course, food. The festivities will feature dance performances by groups like the Pavlechenko Folklorique Ensemble and Yevshan Ukrainian Folk Ballet Ensemble. There will be activities for the kids and cultural displays. This will be a ton of fun and yes, there will be perogies and a beer garden. The best part, it’s all free.

Backstreet’s Back Baby!! The Backstreet Boys have been going strong for nearly 30 years and the band is bringing its DNA World Tour to Saskatoon this weekend. The tour is named after the album of the same name and it’s been getting incredible reviews as it criss-crosses Canada. The band’s longevity has meant that now multiple generations are joining in and singing along to hits like I’ll Never Break Your Heart and I Want It That Way. Tickets start at $105.

The sky will be alive over the South Saskatchewan River this long weekend. The Nutrien Fireworks Festival is back with two days of music, cultural performances, kids activities, an artisan market and tons of food. Take the family down for all the afternoon fun and then take in the fireworks set to music each night at 9:30pm.
