Nestled in Riversdale is a festival that will celebrate the cold by warming you up. Nutrien Wintershines is back for another year of outdoor fun. This year’s theme, celebrating Chinese Culture and Heritage and from the Kiddies Snowpark to the non-stop schedule of events there’s something for everyone. You have to see the Enchanted Ice Gardens that have been created on the market square. Stop by the bonfire and roast an apple or two. Friday night events include the Winter Carnival and Igloo Fest which will be rocking with hits from the 70s and 80s inside the giant inflatable igloo. On Saturday, there will be a 3×3 shinny tournament and a ton of activities inside Isinger Snowpark. The best part, the majority of this fun is free.

Reasonable Doubt

Persephone Theatre

It’s a show that’s received national attention and is sure to keep the discussion going long after the curtain closes. Reasonable Doubt comes from the creators of some of the most ground-breaking theatre our community has seen in the past few years. The documentary play by Joel Bernbaum, Lancelot Knight and Yvette Nolan is is based on the public’s reaction to real-life, tragic events in our community. Fuelled by the response to the death of Colton Boushie, an Indigenous man who was fatally shot on a Saskatchewan farm in 2016. Bernbaum set out to interview Indigenous and non-Indigenous people and gather their reactions and opinions surrounding the shooting. The trial and media firestorm that followed polarized our country and this show takes an inclusive look at public opinion surrounding the events. The production will be followed by post-show discussions with the audience and is meant to be a first step towards healing. Tickets are $41 – $51.

Jim Gaffigan

Grammy nominated comedian and New York Times best-selling author Jim Gaffigan is back out on the road with his The Pale Tourist tour. Gaffigan has delighted audiences around the world with his clean jokes about fun, food and fatherhood. Along with his work as a stand-up and author, Gaffigan is also an actor and film producer. Trudel Family

The Bassment

The family that sings together, stays together. The Trudel Family is six-member band that creates beautiful country, bluegrass and gospel music. Known for their harmonies the Trudels are award winning taking home the Saskatchewan Country Music award for group of the year in 2016. Members Janaya and Jolissa (Jay & Jo) also perform as a duo and their latest will be coming out this year. This show is all about family and celebrating great music. Tickets are $22 – $27
