Winterruption is a five-day entertainment buffet designed to help shake off the winter blues. This year’s lineup includes comedians Ali Hassan and Steve Paterson, the interactive singing group Choir! Choir! Choir!, hometown soul singer Elsa Gebremichael who now performs as Wild Black and a presentation of Burnt Thicket Theatre’s Every Brilliant Thing. Families may want to check out National Geographic Live and hear the story of award-winning photographer Steve Winter as he tracks big cats all over the world.  There’s so much more on the program, both indoor and outdoor, you just have to check it out for yourself. Tickets are $15 – $45 and some events are free.

We Will Rock You – The Musical

Rock and roll reigns when it comes to jukebox musicals and We Will Rock You promises to deliver to classic rock fans of Queen. 21 songs make up the cannon including Don’t Stop Me Now, Another One Bites the Dust and, of course Bohemian Rhapsody. This is a high energy show about a group of bohemians as they set out to restore freedom in a world where everyone looks, acts alike and musical expression is forbidden. There’s only one show so demand is sure to be high. Tickets are $70 – $90.

It’s one of those iconic Disney films that most kids know front to back. The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra is inviting families to re-live the magic of The Little Mermaid with it’s live performance. The SSO will be playing the soundtrack along with a live screening of the movie behind the orchestra. This is the perfect chance to introduce your kids to the orchestra and to have a wonderful time together. Tickets are $65 – $90.
