Dancing Sky Theatre is back with its holiday show, The Fourth Wiseman. This performance is a collective creation. The cast and crew have all had a hand in crafting the story, movement and music in this tale of doubt, love and self-discovery. You can go out just for the show or have a lovely meal beforehand. ELF: The Musical is the hilarious tale of Buddy the Elf, who as a child mistakenly crawled into Santa’s bag of gifts and was transported to the North Pole. Buddy is unaware that he is actually human, but eventually his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. There’s no denying the pull of Persephone Theatre’s annual Christmas show. It’s always family friendly and this one really hits the mark. Elf: The Musical is so popular, that even before its opening this week, it was extended right up until January. It’s the story of Buddy, a human child who was raised as an elf in Santa’s workshop but wants to know his true identity. He heads to New York City to find his real dad and the true meaning of Christmas. If you loved the movie, this musical is for you and the family. Tickets are $23 – $63.

Get into the holiday spirit with the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra and a whole cast of local talent. This show is a variety style program featuring artists like Elly Thorn, Dean McNeill and the University of Saskatchewan Chorus. There will be a mix of new songs and holiday favourites. Tickets are $57 – $73.

Christmas Presence

College Park Covenant Church
It’s a mashup of Christmas celebration on stage for one night only. Burnt Thicket Theatre’s Christmas Presence takes the story of the nativity and uses music, readings and traditional storytelling to explore the hopeful tale. The show will feature artists like Yulissa Campos, Becky Thomas and Nathan Pederson. This is all being done to support both the independent theatre company and Stephen’s Backpacks, a charity that helps families facing poverty by providing kids with the basics they need like school supplies, hygiene items and shoes. Admission is a suggested donation of $10 and/or a new stuffie for Stephen’s Backpacks.
