The Refinery
A celebration of poetry, art, music and dance await you this weekend and it’s all for a good cause. This show is a celebration of Flamenco performance. Based on the elements of Fire, Earth, Air and Water dancers will perform to celebrate each element. They will also be donning wearable art created by fashion designers Astri Prugger and Melissa Squire, adding to the beauty of the music provided by musicians like Celedonio Garrido and Ricardo Diaz. This is a collaborative performance and all the money raised will be going to the Jack Millkin Centre, an arts space at the Ness Creek site. Tickets are $45.

Megabounce 2019 Friday
Meewasin Park
Friday night Meewasin Park will be home to a giant inflatable obstacle course for the Lung Association Megabounce 2019. This is an event open to all ages as the race up and down nine inflatable obstacles. Kids under 3 ½ feet have to run the course with a parent. Tickets are $50.

Penelopiad Fri. – Sept. 22
Backstage Stage @ Persephone Theatre
13 is lucky when it comes to a new theatre collective in Saskatoon. Ferre Play Theatre is a brand-new company comprised of 13 powerhouse women staging 13 performances of The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood. The story focuses on Penelope, wife of Odysseus as she shares the stories of the Odyssey, her life and death as a legend of Greek mythology. Director Yvette Nolan directs this cast in a piece by one of Canada’s most beloved feminist authors. Tickets are being sold on a pay-what-you-can format $10 – $50.

Pumpkin Fest Next 3 weekends
Black Fox Farm & Distillery
A fun day at the farm awaits you and the family during the last three weekends in September. Black Fox Farm & Distillery is celebrating the magic of fall with its annual Pumpkin Fest. Last year’s festival had to be cancelled because of early frost but this year, the forecast is looking great. This is a weekend full of games celebrating the giant gourd, pumpkin dishes like pie, soup and doughnuts and a chance to pick one to take home. Admission is $15 a vehicle.
