Amigos Cantina
It’s emotional, confessional and cathartic. Emo music emerged in the 90s with bands like Jimmy Eat World and Weezer. The tradition now continues with bands like Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco. Amigos is celebrating the genre with a night featuring bands like Saskatoon’s Killjoy playing the hits you know and love. Tickets are $10 – $15.

Black Fox Sunflower Festival Saturday
Black Fox Farm & Distillery
Just a short drive out of Saskatoon you can have an afternoon of beautiful flowers, cocktails and snacks. The award winning distillery which is known best for its gin is also a you-pick flower farm. The farm has acres of blooms and for this festival, more than 6,000 sunflowers in a whole range of colours for you to take home. Its a beautiful afternoon stroll on the prairies. The event is free but bring cash for your bouquet.

Movie Night in the Park Saturday
Prairie Lily Park – Brighton
There’s nothing better on a summer evening than a movie with the family under the stars. One of Saskatoon’s newest neighbourhoods, Brighton is holding family fun night in the park and capping it off with a screening of The Secret Life of Pets 2. There will be bouncy castles, face painting and plenty of snacks from local food trucks. The party kicks off at 4:00 p.m.. This event is free.

Reignwolf Tuesday

It’s safe to say there’s only a handful of musicians from this province that become true superstars and Saskatoon’s Jordan Cook a.k.a. Reignwolf is just such a performer. He’s come a long way from a little guy rockin’ it out at Bud’s on Broadway. Cook has toured all over Europe and North America gaining legions of fans as he goes. As Reignwolf, he’s just dropped a new album called Hear Me Out and he’s bringing his North American Tour home for a show. Tickets are $30.

Music for the Gut Aug. 29
TCU Place
It’s been a tradition for almost a decade in our city. Artists from all over gather to lend their talents to raise money for Chron’s and Colitis Canada. The variety night has raised thousands of dollars in support and spread awareness of the disease. This is an evening full of music, theatre and fun. The cast of performers will include Jay Semko, William Boan and Theresa Sokyrka. Tickets are $26 – $39.
