The Short Cuts Festival is a performance of six 10-minute plays on a variety of subjects from love and loss to healthy competition and unexpected visitors. The cast is a who’s who of Saskatoon theatre and it’s a ton of fun. Tickets are $15.

Arkells Friday

They’ve toured the country, won Junos and created so many party anthems it’s hard to count. Now Arkells are back out on the road in support of the band’s fifth studio album Rally Cry. These Hamilton rockers hit the stage with so much energy, you’ll be sure to be up and dancing the night away. Tickets are $46 – $150

Tainted Love Saturday

It’s going to be an evening full of passion and tragedy at the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra takes to the stage to present Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet. The orchestra hasn’t performed this work in 20 years and it’s sure to be a crowd pleaser just in time for Valentine’s Day. The romance doesn’t end there, violinist Andréa Tyniec is known for her exciting interpretations of modern composers and she’ll do just that with Peteris Vasks’ Distant Light. The Saskatoon Youth Orchestra will also perform. Tickets are $34 – $73.

KONA – Wanuskewin Winter Festival

Wanuskewin Heritage Park
It’s a winter celebration of Indigenous culture. The Kona Winter Festival will feature sleigh and dog sled rides, storytelling with Joseph Naytowhow, an archaeological workshop with Dr. Ernie Walker, snaring and trapping demonstrations and plenty of tasty treats. It’s a fun time for the whole family. Admission is free.
