YXEats / yxeats.com

It’s your chance to taste your way through Riversdale at YXEats. (yxeats.com)

Nummy Neighbourhood        Now – Sun.

Riversdale Neighbourhood

It’s one of Saskatoon’s fastest changing neighbourhoods. There always seems to be some new fusion restaurant or artisanal chef setting up in Riversdale and that’s why the community decided to come together and create YXEats. The foodie fun is in it’s fourth year now and it’s your chance to try dishes from the communities restaurants as well as find some cool pop up restaurants you may want to try. It’s pretty simple, you just check out the website (link is below) for maps and dishes. Each one will run you between $10 – $35. There are special events as well. Friday morning there’s a breakfast drive thru at the Saskatoon Farmer’s Market and on Saturday a swankier affair with several courses and live entertainment will be held at The Village.

Iconic Tribute       Friday

The Bassment

Sometimes you get lucky and seeing a tribute to the artist can actually please the fan of that artist. I think that’s what happens when Neil Currie takes the stage. Many of you may be familiar with Currie as half of the duelling pianos that often play this city. Currie is an amazing pianist and vocalist and you’ll delight in his skills as he brings My Life – The Music of Billy Joel to the stage. Uptown Girl, Just The Way You Are and Piano Man are all sure to be part of the set list with Currie and his band. This is a great night to take your parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents because you can all sing along together. Tickets are $22 – $27.

Featured acts include The Steadies and The Pistolwhips on the Leopold’s Tavern Community Stage. There will be cultural demonstrations all along the five blocks and plenty of action to keep the kids busy. It’s a great chance to get out and meet your neighbours. This event is free to the public.
