Brit’s Picks June 9 – 16, 2016
Sexy Seductress Saturday Persephone Theatre
The music and magic of Carmen will be brought to the stage by Alma Flamenco this weekend. The tale is of a sexy gypsy who tries to help smugglers bring contraband into the city by using her feminine wiles. In true Alma Flamenco style this story of love, life and betrayal is being told through the power of dance. The company had been working hard on this show and will be performing it with live musicians which adds an element of improv to the dance as well. Tickets are available at $20-$35 and there will be a Tapas reception afterwards at the Artist Loft.

Loud & Proud Now – Saturday Various Venues
It’s a celebration of love and diversity and it’s taking over Saskatoon right now. The Saskatoon Pride Festival began June 3 and there’s still plenty of fun to be had as we head into the weekend. Thursday night be sure to check out the Live In Colour Art & Fashion Show at the Hilton Garden Inn. If you wanna go all out (pun intended) head down to Diva’s night club Thursday night for the HI-NRG drag show. I swear after seeing some of these performers, you’re going to want make-up lessons. Friday and Saturday is all about family and community as the Community Fair takes over Kiwanis Park. There will be performances by artists like Kinnie Star, Eekwol, HOJA and Bif Naked. Saturday is the Super Queer Sweet 16 Pride Parade. You’re going to want to get downtown by around 11am for a good spot.
