Forget the chocolates and flowers, Jeffery Straker is going all out this Mother’s Day. The singer-songwriter has just penned a new track called Wonder Woman and he’s released the single and the music video just in time to celebrate with his own mom.

“We all look up to our mom as a hero of sorts, being there every step of the way,” explains Straker. “Moms’ support and love is unwavering so in that light, she’s more than a hero, she’s a superhero.”

Straker and his mom, Beverly are close. He credits her with introducing him to the world of piano and music.

“Driving me to lessons and festivals, she was supportive the whole time.” Straker continues,”It wasn’t because she thought someday this would be my career. She did this all because she saw her kid liking something. It’s really wonderful.”

Beverly says she’s blown away by how personal the new song is. “It’s quite overwhelming. Like who gets a SONG on Mother’s Day?” She exclaims, “I’m so blessed and will cherish it forever!”

It’s easy to get Beverly gushing about her son and his musical accomplishments. Straker has 7 albums under his belt and is still touring on the momentum of North Star Falling (released in 2015). “I’m so proud of him and what he’s been able to accomplish,” she says. “I had no idea one day he’d be performing all over the world. But now that it’s happening, I’m not really surprised. He’s always been a hard worker.”

To celebrated Mother’s Day, Jeffery is taking his mom out to the symphony. Beverly adds that she plans to listen to the song Wonder Woman over and over again this weekend.
