Farideh is a Saskatoon-based singer songwriter who burst into our lives with her cheeky and hilarious observations about life and motherhood. Persephone Theatre closes out its season with a comedy Blithe Spirit about Charles, a novelist who’s invited a medium to his home for research on his new book. The dinner party seems to be going well until the séance is successful and Charles hears from the ghost of his first wife who’s trying to get rid of his new one. Tickets are $57 – $71.

It’s a trip down memory lane with celebrated Patsy Cline tribute artist Amberley Beatty. You will hear all your favourites; I Fall To Pieces, Crazy, and She’s Got You in this performance. Thursday’s show was so popular they’ve added another Friday night. Tickets are $51.

It’s a show that’s billed as “Russia’s Only Living Comedian” and you can see Vancouver comedian Byron Bertram as his alter ego Sergei on stage at Art Bar this weekend. Bertram has been on stages all over North America and been noticed by comedians like Bill Burr. There are two shows 7pm & 9pm and tickets are $25.

Have you ever leaned in to hear someone else’s whisper or tried to eavesdrop on a disagreement? 25th Street Theatre is taking audience’s Behind Closed Doors for a theatre experience unlike any other. They are breaking away from the traditional stage to present six short plays, written by local playwrights, and performed in unusual site-specific spaces. It’s like a choose-your-own-adventure as you travel to places like a school bus, a local coffee shop, and even a bar bathroom for stories that only happen in private spaces. You can see a single show for $10 – $15 or grab a passport for all six at $60.

Gordon Tootoosis Nīkānīwin Theatre in partnership with Burnt Thicket Theatre brings you a world premiere of Apples & Train Tracks. This is a play inspired by real life experiences of Saskatchewan Métis living on the Road Allowance. We meet Charlie who’s working through intergenerational trauma as as his tries to find a new life with his wife Rose. But he’s haunted by the lasting impact on his parents of a 1940’s government program that eradicated Métis Road Allowance Communities by sending residents to remote rehabilitation farms in the north. Tickets are Pay-What-You-Choose with suggested prices $10 – $50.

American YouTube sensation Blippi has been entertaining and teaching kids about the world around them since 2014 and now he’s bringing his Be Like Blippi world tour to Saskatoon. The Colour of the Town

Sum Theatre is back with a brand new Theatre in the Park adventure. The Colour of the Town is a story about the people of Taupe Town who are challenged by their young residents to look beyond the colour they’ve always painted to embrace new possibilities. It’s a tale for all ages about the joy and beauty of democracy and the importance of getting along. The show starts its run in Saskatoon (May 14 – 31) then heads out on tour with stops in Northern Saskatchewan (June 2-4), Regina & Area (June 7 – 14) and then wrapping up back in Saskatoon (June 16 – 30). The outdoor performances are in neighbourhood parks and they are free to attend.
