Court is in session but that doesn’t necessarily mean justice will prevail…At least not when it’s manned by the Saskatoon Soaps Improv Comedy troupe. This month the Soaps will hit the stage for “The Trial of the Century” and the crimes they are charged with are up to you. The audience gives suggestions and the comedians take it from there. The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra welcomes home oboist Bede Hanley all the way from New Zealand for a celebration of contemporary Canadian composers. Hanley is the principal oboist for the Auckland Philharmonia and he’ll be performing a work by Toronto composer Gary Kulesha for him. This concert will introduce you to our country’s brightest and best composers who are making their mark on the classical music scene. Tickets are $50 – $103.

Our friends at Wide Open Children’s Theatre are in the kitchen whipping up a brand new puppet show for us. The Franken-Gingerbread Man tells the story of what happens when two bumbling bakers try to create the ultimate cookie when suddenly, it comes to life. The Saskatoon performances are just the warm up. In December, Wide Open will partner with Meacham’s Dancing Sky Theatre for a longer, adult friendly version of the baker’s tale. Tickets are $12 – $17.

Remembrance Day Service

The annual Saskatoon Remembrance Day Service returns for an indoor, in-person event. The ceremony will be filled with the pomp and circumstance that we are used to seeing as all ages and different service groups pay tribute to service personnel who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice. Doors open at 9:00a.m. and the service begins at 10:00a.m. and admission is free. For those who can’t make it the service will be streamed live on Rogers TV and on the Saskatoon Remembers website.
