Educating Rita tells the story of a brash, straight-talking hairdresser who wants to change her life by going back to school and her disillusioned professor Frank. The pair explore poetry and literature and end up teaching each other a lesson. This is a story about the power of learning. Tickets are $57 – $71.

Leonard & Joni: The Untold Love Story

Their music has entranced us for decades with their love affairs becoming almost as legendary as the songs they created but not many of us know about the brief romance between Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen. This performance uses photos, video, and of course, music to bring their whirlwind love affair to life. Learn how Mitchell and Cohen influenced each other and the incredible tunes that came from their love. Tickets are $62.

Award-winning folk duo of Jos Sandu and Andrew Laite, known as Rube & Rake are out on the road in support of their new album Good Time After Bad and they’re making a stop in our city. The band, based in St. John’s, create lilting, joyful music about the modern Canadian experience. Tickets are $26 – $36.

Saskatoon International Burlesque Festival

It’s all about the art of the tease! Saskatoon’s International Burlesque Festival is back for another year with performances by international artists like Finland’s Lala L’More and MC Constance Craving from New Zealand. There will be glitter and glamour. Tickets are $35 or you can get a pass for both nights for $60.

Puccini’s most-loved opera Tosca has passion, corruption, and deadly consequences. The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra brings this story to the stage in partnership with the National Arts Centre Orchestra and Edmonton Opera’s Emerging Artist Program. The main cast has performed in Ottawa and Whitehorse and now they take the stage with the orchestra and a chorus of local singers for a semi-staged production (the singers perform in front of the orchestra on stage with costume and set pieces). This opera is in Italian but don’t worry, there will be surtitles projected on screens above the stage so you won’t miss a minute of the action. Tickets are $56 – $98.

It’s an organization that supports multiculturalism and cultural intelligence right here in the province and around the world. The concert will feature performances by Nigerian drum master Olabisi Matthew, Cree singer Falynn Baptist, and Jared “DJ Deli” Funk. The show is free.

STC Every Child Matters Pow Wow

It’s a celebration of resilience, remembering, and looking forward together to a brighter future. The annual Saskatoon Tribal Council Every Child Matters Pow Wow is back to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. There will be traditional dancing, drumming, and storytelling to mark the three day celebration. Admission is free.
