Don’t Stop The Music of Fleetwood Mac

Get ready to sing and dance the night away with the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra as they celebrate the music of rock supergroup Fleetwood Mac. The SSO is bringing back Jeans ‘n Classics for this performance that will include the greatest hits like Rhiannon, Second Hand News, and The Chain. This is an evening to dip your toes into the orchestral world with tunes you already know and love. Tickets are $66 – $97.

After a six year break from the stage, Canadian singer songwriter Lindi Ortega is back out on the road with the Lost Highway Navigators in advance of her new album From the Ether due out this October. Ortega’s music blends roots, country, and blues influences with wonderful storytelling. She’s made the Polaris Music Prize long list and been recognized by the Junos and the Canadian Country Music Association. Tickets are $42.

Say goodbye to summer with a bang. The Nutrien Fireworks festival is back for another year of fun. Friday events begin at 5:00p.m. and Saturday at 12:00p.m.. This year’s theme is wahkohtowin, the Cree word for kinship and its a party that will bring the whole family together. Check out the cultural dancers and performances on the stage at River Landing, grab a bite from one of the food trucks lined up along the Traffic Bridge and take the kids to check out the games and activities set up in Rotary Park. The main stage entertainers include The Johner Boys and Mo Marley Of course each evening culminates in the spectacular fireworks shows set to music. Admission to the festival is free.

Buds on Broadway

Nothing more patriotic than a concert full of bangers from the Great White North. The Great Canadian Superband takes the stage this weekend for a pair of shows at Buds. From Stompin’ Tom to Billy Talent they play songs that made it big in the 60s all the way up to present day.
