Brit’s Picks June 13 – 20

In The Next Room

Now – Sun.

BackStage Stage

Remai Arts Centre

It’s a comedic play that tackles taboos and it’s coming from Saskatoon’s newest theatre company Lolabrickida Theatre. In the Next Room or the vibrator play is set in the 1800’s and tells the story of Dr. Givings, his family, staff, and patients as they seek medical treatment for hysteria with he use of a vibrator in his home-based clinic. The team members I spoke to told me there’s nothing pornographic about this play. It’s a matter-of-fact medical procedure and it sends each character on their own journey of discovery. Tickets are $25 – $35.
