Don your colours and let’s keep the party going. Saskatoon has been celebrating Pride with events all over the city and this weekend things really ramp up. Thursday night, don’t miss Welcome to the Gaybourhood, a community BBQ complete with a community fair and live entertainment 11am – 2pm on Avenue C right outside OUTSaskatoon’s office. Thursday evening, you can take in the Incredi-ball the Pride fashion show featuring several local designers and pop up shopping for you to grab some of the pieces. Friday you can get ready for the parade with a sign making workshop at Remai Modern and stick around for the 2-Spirit Voices Experience complete with storytelling and music. Then dance the night away with Saskatoon natives Wild Black and éemi playing their infectious pop, hip hop and dance tunes.  Saturday, it’s time for the annual Pride Parade. This year’s theme is Fabulous Futures and it boasts to be the largest parade in Saskatoon each year. The parade kicks off at 1:00p.m. through the downtown and winds up at the Pride Festival grounds in Friendship Park. Once the parade is over stick around for Pride in the Park. The party will feature a family fun zone, youth talent stage, artisan market and plenty of entertainment on the main stage. Sunday celebrate Father’s day with a family breakfast in Civic Plaza. Many of these Pride events are free with ticketed offerings topping out at $50.

Who’s Kid is it Anyway?

Two Canadian comedy titans will share the stage with the Saskatoon Soaps this weekend. Colin Mochrie best known for his work on Who’s Line is it Anyway? and Kevin McDonald of The Kids in the Hall fame are hitting the stage at the Broadway Theatre. The first show sold out so quickly a second and then a third was added. Those tickets also went fast. I checked on social media and there are still a few single seats available and plans change, you might get lucky. Tickets are $25 – $33.

A Boogie Wit da Hoodie

New York rapper, singer songwriter A Boogie Wit da Hoodie or A Boogie for short is out on his Me Vs. Myself Tour and stopping in our city. He’s collaborated with artists like Ed Sheeran, DJ Khaled and Nas. Check out the multi-platinum artist who’s credited with bringing the new sound of NYC to the masses. Tickets are $53 – $133.

Jimmy Carr

TCU Place

Just for Laughs presents UK Comedy star Jimmy Carr on his Terribly Funny Tour. Carr is one of the biggest selling comedy acts in the world and his first show sold so quickly Carr is doing a second show the same evening. He’s performed all over the world, made regular appearances on late night TV, has several Netflix specials and now you can see him live in our city. Tickets are $46.

Beauty and the Beast

The Saskatoon Summer Players invite you to be their guest as it takes on the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast. The award-winning animated classic will become a live musical on stage at the Remai Arts Centre featuring a ton of local talent. This show is a perfect evening out with the family as you singalong with Belle, the Beast and a whole host of colourful household characters. Do you want much more than this provincial life? The Bassment

Saskatoon rockers are back Outside the Wall is a Pink Floyd tribute band from right here in our city. The group sold out its first show on Friday June 23rd so it’s added another performance Thursday June 22. Party with other Floyd lovers to tunes from The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and some deeper cuts that are new for the band. Tickets are $30 – $40.

4-Ever-Young Party

Nutrien Wonderhub is celebrating its 4th anniversary with a party. There will be plenty of free activities to take in on the grounds surrounding the children’s museum as well as indoors. There are also special activities within the exhibits where admission is required. Chalk drawing, bubbles, juggling workshops, dance parties as well as arts and crafts. There will be door prizes and party favours. Celebrate with the fine folks at Wonderhub and thank them for all the smiles they’ve brought families. Many of the activities are free and if you want to take in the party inside, admission is $8.50.
