The kohkoms are back for another year of fun as part of Gordon Tootoosis Nīkānīwin Theatre’s A Rez Christmas Carol. This story features Purdy Pasimonias, a scrooge-like band manager who catches the attention of the Spirits of the Four Directions and is forced to examine his life choices. This series of holiday stories by playwright Curtis Peeteetuce is always full of laughter and heart. Tickets are $20 – $25.

SSO Messiah & Messiah Sing-Along

After a two-year break, the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra is back on stage with Handel’s Messiah. This is a tradition that’s been going for 109 years, actually longer than the SSO itself. Friday night’s performance will feature guest soloists McKenzie Warriner, Oli Guselle, Spencer McKnight and Brenden Friesen along with the orchestra and a full choir. Saturday afternoon it’s time for you to get in on the merriment with the Sing-Along Messiah. You don’t have to be a pro to join in on this event, sheet music will be provided and it’s all about the joy of singing together. Tickets are $41 – $51.

SANTA!!!!! That’s right, only a week before his big trip and the jolly old elf is making a pit stop at the Enchanted Forest. Bring the family for a meet and greet with the big guy as well as some frosty friends from Tangled in Tiaras. There will be light sticks for the kids and music by Armed with Harmony. Admission is $10/person or $35/car. All the proceeds go to the Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation and the Saskatoon Zoo Foundation.

You still have a few chances left to see a prairie panto live. Dancing Sky Theatre has been doing an original panto for the last 17 years. It’s an original story, created from scratch by the artists. It’s full of music, puppets, laughs and plenty of audience participation. Follow Jack, the Widow Spriggins, Fred, Ed and Monty as they encounter the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and try to save their small town. You can enjoy a meal before you see the show or take in just the show itself. Tickets are $20 – $35. Meacham is an hour East of Saskatoon and it’s well worth the trip.

Fireside Singers Christmas Memories

It’s a big anniversary for the Saskatoon Fireside Singers. This year marks 50 years for the choir under the direction of Marilyn Whitehead. Several guest artists will be sharing the stage with the 100+ chorus members including Thomas Yu, Kerry DuWors and Guy Few. There will be dancers, soloists and a huge, beautiful sound at this show. Tickets are $53.
