Canadian country music superstar Dallas Smith is making a stop at SaskTel Centre with his “Some Things Never Change” tour. The Juno winner claims the title of Canadian country artist with the most No. 1 singles on Canadian Country Radio and you’re about to see why. With hits like Somebody Somewhere, Wastin’ Gas, and Cheap Seats are all sure to be a part of the party. Smith is bringing some great Saskatchewan talent along for the ride. Keep an eye out for the James Barker Band, Meghan Patrick, JoJo Mason, Shawn Austin, Kelly Prescott and Manny Blue. Tickets are $25 – $100.

The Saskatoon Soaps are back with a show that will have answers to all your burning questions… well, maybe. Dear Soapy is a show being patterned after the tried-and-true advice columnists but with a hilarious, improv twist. Are you wondering how to ask your boss for that raise or find out how to ask your roommate to stop eating your snacks? The Soaps will help you figure it out and even if they don’t, they’ll leave you laughing. Tickets are $13 – $15.

Canadian rocker Matthew Good is back out on the road. He first came to our airwaves with the Matthew Good Band. It quickly became one of the most successful Canadian alternative rock bands during the 90s and early 2000s. Good is a Juno award winner and will play a solo acoustic show, his first since 2020. He’ll be playing tunes from his most recent album Moving Walls as well as so many of the favourites that made him a star. Tickets are $48.

Toronto rock alt-country band Elliott Brood is a fan favourite here in Saskatoon and the band is back with Ellen Froese to take the stage at the Capitol this weekend. Regulars on the festival circuit, the trio was shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize and are Juno award winners. This is a great evening to get up and sing along, $20 to $25 will get you in the door.

It’s a big anniversary for Sum Theatre and its annual production of Theatre in the Park. This year, the 10^th season, is earlier to avoid the extreme heat, wild winds and thunderstorms we’ve experienced these past few July’s. The company has a brand-new production created to entertain families. wâhkôhtowin is an original tale filled with music, puppetry and movement that teaches us all the importance of rebuilding connections with each other and our environment. You have until next Friday (June 3) to see the show in Saskatoon. The production then heads to neighbourhood parks in Regina & area as well as new dates in Saskatchewan’s north. The best part about this performance is it’s absolutely free. THIS WEEKEND’S PERFORMANCES: Rosewood & Richmond Heights.

Horror film lovers unite! The Dark Bridges Film Festival is back and returning to its roots this year. The festival, founded in 2009, features a carefully curated schedule of scare. Films like Saskatoon produced The Druid’s Hand, Sexykiller: You’ll Die For Her and Watcher are all on the program. Grab your popcorn and steel your nerves. Single tickets are $7 – $10 and an all access wristband is $90.
