If you’re looking for a St. Patrick’s Day party, look no further than Pink Cadillacs on 8th Street. Local musicians Gillian Snider, Fabian Minnema, Shayne Lazarowich and Terry Hoknes will keep the party rolling with Irish tunes, rock covers and original songs. This is a chance to cut loose and maybe indulge in one of those “Big Kid” shakes. There’s no cover charge for this show.

If you like old-school country music and tasty food, head to the Cosmo Seniors Centre Friday night. This is an evening hosted by the Northern Lights Bluegrass and Old Tyme Music Society and it features performances by many artists you’ll recognize. Members of Kacy and Clayton, The Barrelmen, and The Seahags will join Ellen Froese to form the country supergroup The Salt Licks. They are playing the music that inspired their careers. If you’re hungry, they’ve got you covered at this party with perogies and dainties and beverages for sale. There’s gonna be square dancing… you in? Tickets are $10

Molly Johnson

You’ve seen her on the Jazz Festival circuit, one of our country’s smokiest, sultriest voices and now Molly Johnson is coming back to Saskatoon for a solo show. Johnson is a multi-award winning vocalist, philanthropist and member of the Order of Canada. She’ll be playing old favourites and new tunes. Tickets are $42.

Alex Cuba

His music is a blend of Pop, Soul, Rock and Cuban fusion and Alex Cuba is back out on the road to entertain you. Cuba’s nominated this year for a Juno for Best Global Album but this recognition thing isn’t new to him. He’s already received 4 Latin Grammys, a couple Junos and been nominated for a Grammy for his music. Last May he released Mendó to worldwide acclaim. Tickets for this show are $30.

Ron Sexsmith

He is at the same time one of Canada’s great troubadours AND a master of the “Dad Joke” on Twitter. Ron Sexsmith has won multiple Junos and written many hits over the years. His latest album Hermitage was written as an ode to his new home. The long-time Toronto resident moved to Stratford, Ontario and the quiet, artistic community has been quite the inspiration. Saskatoon’s been waiting a long time for Sexsmith to return and you can see him in concert for $35.

One of Saskatchewan’s most famous comedians is back on stage to bring you a little joy. Brent Butt let the world in on the kind-hearted, loving and hilarious nature of our province’s people with his hit sitcom Corner Gas a show that got new life with the animated series. He’s also a regular on the comedy circuit in Canada for more than three decades. Take in all the fun for $60.

Accent with the SSO

After a two-year wait, Accent is finally making its Canadian debut and it’s doing it with the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra. The vocal ensemble is made up of six members from all over the world and two of its members Andrew Kesler and Danny Fong just happen to hail from Saskatoon. Accent blends rock, jazz, and pop classics into an electric performance of music you already know and love. You’ll be amazed by their harmonies and delight in this truly Pops performance with the SSO. Tickets are $60 – $82 and the concert is also available on the SSO’s ConcertStream.tv site for subscribers to the digital season.

Winterruption

After a pandemic pause it’s full-steam ahead for Winterruption 2022. The festival features music, theatre and performances sure to break you out of the funk of winter and have you ready to welcome spring. Rockers Chastity with Slow Down Molasses, Hip Hop’s Dijah with T-Rhyme, Pop acts Tops with Foggy Notions and Queen of the Drag scene Morgan McMichaels are all on the program. There will also be a featured run of S.E. Grummett’s Something In The Water a theatre performance that gained huge praise in 2021 from both the Adelaide and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. Tickets range between $15 – $35.
