Don’t think you can make it until midnight? Looking for a little fun with the family to ring in 2021? The Saskatoon Public Library has a party just for you. Beginning at 11:30am, the team will be hosting a celebration full of crafts (you’ll need a roll of newspaper, scissors and tape), dancing, stories and a countdown to noon.

Saskatoon Pride – Virtual NYE

Kick 2020 to the curb with Saskatoon Pride with a party it’s calling Cheers, Queers! The virtual party will be held over zoom with entertainment by DJs Zaddy Glitter and Max Maximus. They’ll be taking requests late into the night over Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. It’s a chance to get your glam on and party, virtually with friends. It’s free and you have to register ahead of time so you can be sent the Zoom link.

NYE with Munro & Patrick

There are a few options available to get out of the house to toast the new year. 6twelve lounge in the Sheraton Hotel has three 2-hour parties available with live entertainment by Munro & Patrick. There will be cocktails and a specialty a la carte menu for these soirees. You have to book ahead. The show is free but there’s a $25 minimum spend on food and bevvies.

KISS 2020 Goodbye

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer’s are bringing in the new year with a bang… literally! Kiss has put together the biggest, baddest live concert experience in its history. The massive stage production will be live streamed around the world from the Atlantis Dubai. The stage was custom built for this performance and will be filmed with 50 cameras and you’ll get a 360-degree view of the show live from your living room. Saskatchewan crew member Chad Guy has been posting videos and pictures as the stage has been created and it looks unbelievable. Streaming packages start at $40 and include the live stream and one free play up to 24 hours after the show.

The Nutcracker

It’s a staple around the holidays for many to make their way to the theatre to enjoy a performance of the Nutcracker Ballet. There’s just something about Tchaikovsky’s music that signals this time of year. Even though the live performances had to be sidelined, you can still enjoy a performance of the famous ballet performed by the New Paltz Ballet in 2019 as part of New York’s Bardavon Opera House’s outreach programming online. The show is free and it might just be the thing you need for a pajama party New Year’s Day.

World Juniors  Watch Party

Capitol Music Club

Team Canada is showing its dominance on the ice once again at the World Juniors and while you can’t be there in person, the Capitol wants you to enjoy the games on the big screen. The club is hosting viewing parties for the games and it’s a cool distanced way to toast the team and cheer them on.
