Costumes, music, and beautiful harmonies will add magic to hits like You Should Be Dancing, Staying Alive, and Nights on Broadway (fitting!). Tickets are $50 and very limited.

Doylefest

Eagle Creek Regional Park

Just a stone’s throw away from Saskatoon there’s a musical party that is full of live music, culture and community and it’s all for a great cause. Doylefest began as a way for Saskatchewan musician Eliza Doyle to celebrate her birthday but it’s grown into an annual event in support of the Community Arts Mentorship program, an organization that provides arts experiences and training for remote communities in our province. This year’s lineup includes acts like Christopher & The Saints, Kiera Dall’Osto, Slow Down Molasses, and many more. There will also be cultural workshops, a disc golf tournament, and activities for the whole family. Passes for a single day are $35 or you can grab a weekend pass for $50.

Just months after emergency brain surgery celebrated Saskatchewan musician Jack Semple is back on stage to celebrate a successful recovery. Semple and his band will be making a two-day stop in our city playing some of his favourite tunes from his more than 50-year career. Tickets are $47 – $50.

The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra launches Season 96 with Saskatoon-born cellist and conductor Alexa Haynes-Pilon. She will lead the orchestra through an exploration of the four elements through unexpected Baroque pieces. Tickets are sold out for this performance but you can still take in the concert live or on demand through ConcertStream.tv for $22.

Get ready to celebrate the beauty and fun of Saskatchewan’s Métis community with the Central Urban Métis Federation’s (CUMFI) Métis Cultural Days. It’s three days filled with fiddling, jigging, a celebrity neck bone eating competition, and award-winning Métis fiddler J.J. Lavallee. It’s free fun for the whole family.

Broadway Street Fair

Head to Saskatoon’s Broadway area for the annual street fair featuring local artists, live music, art, food trucks, more than 170 local vendors, and  family entertainment. This year’s performers include Wigged OutYXE, Oral Fuentes, Matt Remendes. There will be plenty to see on the street including the Roaming Salty Circus Performers, Warren the Balloon Guy, and Living Statue Nicole de G.

Christmas, Arizona The Musical: Live Soundtrack

Saskatoon-born author Dan Clapson is working on a musical with award-winning artist and composer ZENON and they wanted to bring a sneak peek to Saskatoon. Christmas, Arizona The Musical is the story of a woman who falls for someone after a one-night stand and then convinces her best friend to join her on a cross-country road trip to find him. Christmas, Arizona The Musical: Live Soundtrack is a concert in two parts. The first set is a showcase of Canadian musicians that inspired the country, roots, and soul feel of the musical. After the intermission ZENON will be joined on stage by a full band and guest artists to perform songs from the musical in production. You can read more about Christmas, Arizona The Musical HERE. Canadian Country Music Week

Saskatoon is about to be come the heart of country music as next week the Canadian Country Music Awards come to town. The awards show will air live from SaskTel Centre on CTV Sept. 19th but before they hand out the hardware, there’s a ton of live music and chances to get in on the fun. Music venues throughout our city will host artists like Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Dean Brody, Tenille Townes, and Charlie Major. There will be fan meet and greets, a songwriters unplugged series, and so much more. Tickets for many events are $25 – $90. The awards show tickets are between $44 – $113.
