Did you know that there’s a whole slate of entertainment this summer staged by the Saskatoon Public Library. Family shows with jugglers, clowns, musicians and more. This week the library has brought in Wide Open Children’s Theatre and its table-top puppet show The Tall, Tall Tower. It’s a reimagined show about a very helpful prince looking for his princess trapped in a tower. Along the way he meets a forest full of familiar faces including Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, and even the three little pigs. This is a 30 minute adventure for the whole family… And it’s free.

Fresh theatre waits for you just a short drive outside of Saskatoon with Channel Theatre’s Too Close To Home. The play by Alison Lawrence follows Margaret who is enjoying retirement in a small town when her daughter arrives in the middle of a mid-life crisis with her moody teenager along for the ride. The comedy features an incredible cast of familiar faces including Saskatoon favourites Cheryl Jack and Bruce McKay. Tickets are $20 – $30.

Back to Batoche Days

Batoche Heritage Site

The largest outdoor Indigenous festival in Canada is back. celebrating Back to Batoche is a celebration of Métis heritage and has been running for more than 50 years. Just an hour drive north of Saskatoon, this year’s celebration features performances by Jason Lepine, JJ Lavallee, and Donny Parenteau. There will be a rodeo with chuckwagon and charity races, the Voyageur Games, dance competitions, activities for the kids and plenty of tasty treats. Celebrate the culture and beauty of the Métis people this weekend at Batoche.

A little taste of the country in downtown Saskatoon this weekend as B.C. artist Dawson Gray takes the stage at the Cap. Gray started his career in 2021 busking in Kelowna and now he’s on a cross-Canada tour making a stop in our city with his band The Bar Staff. Gray has opened for the likes of James Barker Band and Cameron Whitcomb. Tickets are $30 – $41.

The Lost Boys

Take a trip back to the 80s with teen heartthrobs Corey Feldman and Corey Haim, not to mention Keifer Sutherland, and Jason Patric for a Drunken Cinema’s presentation of The Lost Boys. The movie centres around 2 bothers who move to a small California town where they run into a mysterious gang with a dark secret. It’s a comedy horror that still holds up today. This is an interactive viewing experience to this cult classic. Your game card and glow stick are included. Tickets are $18.

Get ready for 5 days of live music, DJs, drinks on the patio and dancing as Hudsons Pub brings back its Saskatoon Block Party. This year’s event features country artists Travis Dolter, Cooper Tropeau & The Broken Bones, a DJ battle, activities and prizes. Tickets for Friday and Saturday night are available at the door only the rest are $13 – $18 and a full weekend pass is $69.
