Persephone Theatre is joining forces with Gordon Tootoosis Nīkānīwin Theatre and Royal Manitoba
Theatre Company to present Rubaboo: A Métis Cabaret. This immersive musical experience was created by Andrea Menard who’s come back home to Saskatoon to star in the show. Rubaboo is the Michif word for soup or stew and that’s what this show is, a musical feast for the audience as you go on a journey into the beautiful world of the Métis. Tickets are $57 – $71.

Age is just a number when it comes to shreddin’ on stage with Loonie Bin. This three piece from Saskatoon, Clifton, Chris and Eric have been grinding away on our music scene playing covers and original tunes. You can check out the rock and blues band at the Capitol Music Club for $15.

Canadian jazz pianist Michael Kaeshammer is back in Saskatoon for a pair of gigs this week. He’s out on a North American tour weaving classical, jazz, blues, boogie-woogie, and pop into his performance at the keys. Kaeshammer always sells out so grab these tickets before they’re gone. 65th Anniversary Celtic Kitchen Party

It’s a milestone anniversary for Saskatoon Police Pipes and Drums and they’re throwing a Celtic kitchen party to celebrate. Special guest performers will be joining the band for toe-tapping tunes. There’s also going to be a massed band portion of the program so the organizers are encouraging you to bring your own instrument, tin whistle, or set of spoons to play along. There will also be snacks and a silent acution. Tickets are $45.

It’s a jukebox musical that continues to be a crowd pleaser. This weekend The Fireside Singers present Mama Mia. The tale of friendship and family told around some of ABBA’s greatest hits. Sophie Sheridan is getting ready to walk down the aisle and she’s devised a plan to find her father by inviting three of her mother’s old flames to the wedding. Tickets are sold out for Sunday’s matinee but there are still two performances Saturday with a few open seats. Tickets are $56 – $67.

The premiere celebration of art in all it’s forms is back for another year. LUGO Frequencies is a journey through visual art, movement and music and who doesn’t love a good theme. This event encourages you to think about the movement and waves that make up frequencies in the everyday as you plan your outfit. Think fringe and movement. The evening’s performers include Big Tones with his old-school hip hop sound, prog-rock band The Radiant, dancers Rawda Mabrouk, Lindsay Harpham and Justin Huber. There will be visual and auditory art for you to interact with as you wander through the gallery. Tickets are $90.

Celebrated Inuk singer-songwriter Elisapie Isaac is out on tour and making a stop in our city. The Juno award-winning artists blends traditional Inuit storytelling with indie, folk, and rock music. Elisapie’s latest album Inuktitut covers classic rock and pop songs in her mother tongue. Tickets are $40.

An Evening with Mary Walsh

You may know her from CODCO or her hilarious run on This Hour Has 22 Minutes with classic characters like Marg Delahunty, or alongside Kathy Jones as one of the E’s. Walsh has been a mainstay on our Canadian comedy scene in television and film and now you can see her live in An Evening With Mary Walsh. The show will take audience members through her life in comedy and some of it’s most memorable moments. Tickets are $48.
