Light up your Christmas with Glow Saskatoon. Make sure you bring your camera and the whole family to the indoor holiday light festival. As you wander through the light display, the kids can take a ride on the train, run around lookinf for clues in the annual scavenger hunt, and enjoy the playground all lit up for the season. There will be visits with Santa, appearances by the Disney princesses and plenty of local music featured on the entertainment stage. Tickets are $15 – $25 with group rates available.

Juno Award winner Jessie Reyez hit the big time with her hit song Figures in 2017 and the singer has never looked back…Until now. Reyez is out on tour in support of her new album Paid In Memories. Her music is a mix of hip hop, R&B and the growling, soulful voice she’s known for. This is an all ages show and tickets are sold out, but make sure you check online. Plans change and you could get lucky.

Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet)

A new theatre company in town Fatal Fem Theatre is making its debut on the Live Five Independent Theatre stage with Ann-Marie MacDonald’s Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet). It’s a feminist comedy that follows Constance Ledbelly, a young English lit professor, on a journey of self-discovery as she dives deep into Shakespeare’s work. It’s a bit like fan fiction as Constance falls down the rabbit hole into the worlds of Othello and Romeo and Juliet and tries to save Desdemona and Juliet from their tragic fate. Tickets are $27 – $32.

Saskatoon Fantastic Film Festival

The Broadway Theatre

It’s a celebration of international and local movies that are causing a stir on the film festival circuit. The 16th annual Saskatoon Fantastic Film Festival is back with every genre of cinema you can think of. Thursday The Weed Eaters from New Zealand will be up on the big screen, Friday night there’s a screening of Don’t Leave the Kids Alone, a thriller from Mexico, and Saturday sit back with the family and enjoy the All You Can Eat Cereal Cartoon Party. is a screening of  This is just a taste of the adventures that await you at this year’s festival. Tickets start at $10, an all access badge is $195.

There are still a few tickets available for this classic performance by the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Nutcracker follows young Clara as her nutcracker comes to life to defend her from the Mouse King and his army. This beautiful production will also feature some local talent as young dancers from Saskatoon and area will be performing alongside the company. Tickets are $47 – $138.

Regina’s legendary indie rock band Foxwarren is back on the scene with it’s latest album 2. The group has worked through members moving, it’s frontman Andy Shauf blowing up as a solo act, and a pandemic all to create a second album. It’s groovy, it’s laid back, and it’s wonderful. Foxwarren will be stopping at Coors Event Centre this weekend and tickets are $97.

Canadian songstress Serena Ryder is spreading the Christmas cheer on her Merry Myths tour. The evening will be a musical journey through holiday traditions and folklore. There will be favourite carols and original tunes in Ryders goofy take on this time of year. Tickets are $73 – $95.

Christmas must be on its way because the BHP Enchanted Forest is back to light up the Forestry Farm Park. It’s a tradition in our house to kick off the holiday season with some hot chocolate, carols and a drive through the park. Make sure you check out all the forest additions, my 10 year-old knows them by heart and is always excited to see the new lights. Tickets are $10 per person or $35 per car.

Western Development Museum

You still have a few day to head to the Western Development Museum for the 40th anniversary of The Festival of Trees. Right now the WDM is filled with trees, lights, and garland, the perfect place to get inspiration for decorating your own home. You need to buy separate tickets for these events and they start at $48. General festival tickets are $10 – $18 and a family pass is available for around $43.

Get ready for a brand new Christmas story with a spooky twist. The team at Dancing Sky Theatre is back on stage with a hilarious panto mash-up of Frankenstein and The Gingerbread Man. The story follows Frank N. Stein a baker with one goal in mind, to make the ultimate cookie to please all but his plan goes sideways when that cookie comes to life. This is a comedy that blends story with music and puppets into a show for the whole family. Tickets are $20 – $40 and select shows you can add a meal on before for $45.

The YXE Divas are BACK! The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra is celebrating the season with the most powerful female voices in this city with YXE Divas Xmas. The orchestra, led by conductor Janna Sailor, will back Sonia Reid, Elyse Evangelista, Falynn Baptiste, Ellen Nasser and newcomers to the diva fold Jessica Robinson and Betty Allison in a mix of holiday classics and contemporary Christmas tunes. Local media diva Alex Brown will host the evening designed to bring the whole family together and get you in the festive spirit. Tickets are $76 – $102.
