Take a trip back in time where hair was big, synths were loud and clothes were neon. The Saskatoon Summer Players is getting ready to hit the stage with the musical adaptation of the 1998 romantic comedy The Wedding Singer. This is all the fun you know and love from the movie with a wonderfully original musical score. This is an evening with Robby and Julia as they discover the secret to finding love is being yourself. Tickets are $26 – $30.

Spain and Saskatoon collide in a cultural celebration of Flamenco dance and music. Kari Alba and Alma Flamenca have partnered with Duendecillo performers from Cadiz, Spain to present Camelar. The performances feature musicians Fernandao Gallego and José Vega as they accompany the dancers as they stomp and swirl across the stage to mark International Flamenco Day (Fri.). Tickets for The Bassment performance are $33 – $43 and you can get them here. Tickets for Friday’s performance at The Refinery are $30 and they are sold out but check for resellers, you might get lucky.
BHP Enchanted Forest

Christmas must be on its way because the BHP Enchanted Forest is back to light up the Forestry Farm Park. Thursday and Friday nights the display is open to foot traffic for the Saskatchewan Blue Cross light walks. Tickets for that are $10/person and $30/family. It’s a tradition in our house to kick off the holiday season with some hot chocolate, carols and a drive through the park. Make sure you check out all the forest additions, my 10 year-old knows them by heart and is always excited to see the new lights. Tickets are $10 per person or $35 per car.

Where Have All The Buffalo Gone?

Persephone Theatre is bringing the magic of live performance to children throughout our province with Where Have All The Buffalo Gone? The show by Vancouver’s Axis Theatre is a love story that takes us through seven different periods of Métis history. The show incorporates music, jigging and large puppets to tell the love, losses and fight of Treaty 6 Métis. This show has two public performances Saturday before heading out on a tour of Saskatchewan schools Nov. 17 – Dec. 5. Tickets for the public performance are $15 – $20.

Canadian comedian Russell Peters was recently named one of Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Comics of All Time and he’s going to prove it to you this weekend. Peters is out on his Relax World Tour and making a couple stops in our province. Tickets are going fast for this award-winning comic and run $63 – $168.

American Country superstar Brad Paisley is out on his Truck Still Works world tour and is swinging through Canada with a stop in our city. Paisley’s no stranger to the top of the music charts with hits like He Didn’t Have to Be and Perfect Storm. He’s bringing celebrated Canadian country music star Meghan Patrick to open the show. Tickets are $51 – $140.

Canadian indie-folk artist Daniel James McFadyen is out on the road celebrating the release of his new album Back to the Country. He’s nominated for a two East Coast Music Awards this year. McFadyen is a rising star with his blend of storytelling and interactive shows selling out along the tour. Saskatoon artist Conor Cassidy will open the show. Tickets are $29 – $39.

He’s got a voice that will blow the roof off The Broadway Theatre and Ben Caplan is ready to entertain you. The Canadian singer-songwriter was last seen in our city in 2022 performing his musical Old Stock. Now Caplan is on tour to preview his new album The Flood. The songs are a meditation on finding meaning in this crazy world and making connections with others. Tickets are $30 – $40.
