What if they were real? 25th Street theatre takes on an irreverent comedy about 16-year-old Thai who’s having a rough time at life these days when Mustard, her imaginary friend shows up and is unwilling to leave and wants to date her mom. This is a twisted fairytale about growing up, moving on, and finding magic. Tickets are $17 – $27.

Award-winning vocalist and pianist Laila Biali returns to The Bassment and this time, it’s a tribute to Saskatoon’s favourite musical daughter. In Joni Mitchell & the Canadian Songbook Reimagined, Biali will give her fresh takes on Mitchell’s iconic music along with tunes by Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, and k.d. Lang.  Tickets are $40 – $50.

La Troupe du Jour presents Arthur Milner’s Getting To Room Temperature. The comedy is a one man show that tells the story of the author’s experience with his elderly mother and her desire to die with dignity. The play is an emotional journey through the questions that arise when a person you love chooses medical assistance in dying. The play is in French with English surtitles. Tickets are $15 – $30.

Forget Baby Einstein the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra has the perfect outing for your preschoolers. Time for Toddlers is a concert for parents and children to explore the world of music through  movement, song and dance with the SSO musicians. This month’s offering is a surprise birthday party for everyone as the musicians celebrate with music from Haydn, Mouret, and Dvorak. Admission is $14.

Sask. Jewish Arts Festival

The Saskatchewan Jewish Arts Festival is back for round two! This is a celebration of culture, theatre, tradition, and visual art. The festival kicks off with the world premiere of Saskatoon playwright Jenna Berenbaum’s 18 Jews Order Chinese Food. The play is part of Persephone Theatre’s mainstage season. The celebrations continue with events like a klezmer Shabbat Service, a Jewish cooking workshop, and a showcase of artwork by Saskatoon Jewish artists curated by Carol Wylie. Internationally renowned artist Leah Rosenberg is coming home to create a window installation at Congregation Agudas Synagogue and will also be giving a workshop where visitors can create their own beautiful pieces to take home. Most of the events, except the play are free to the public. Tickets for 18 Jews Order Chinese Food are $30 – $32.
