My Little Plastic Jesus

Burnt Thicket Theatre presents a one man, multi-media, living room show written & performed by artist Tim Bratton. My Little Plastic Jesus is an autobiographical piece where Bratton unpacks his upbringing in an evangelical church and what it means to his life today. It challenges ideas of religion and politics with a lot of humor and original music. This is the first live presentation of the show since the pandemic halted touring plans in 2020. It will be presented much like a house concert in homes at each tour stop. tickets are $25.

Broadway 30th Anniversary

It’s a big milestone for one of Saskatoon’s favourite venues. This year marks three decades of the Broadway Theatre being 100% community owned. The month-long celebration will feature Music of the Night (Sunday) a celebration of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 75th birthday, Zachary Stevenson’s Tribute to Buddy Holly (Tuesday), Great Lake Swimmers (Wednesday) and ABBA Revisited, an ABBA tribute show (Thursday). Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

Be you a muggle or a wizard in training, there’s a concert that no fan of Harry Potter will want to miss. The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra and TCU Place present John Willliams’ iconic score from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. This is a presentation of the film you know and love and the orchestra playing the soundtrack live. There are two performances a 1:30pm matinee and an evening performance at 7:30pm. Tickets are $72 – $152 and they are going fast.

Wild T & the Spirit

He’s been compared to the liked of Jimi Hendrix, opened for acts like Bon Jovi and recorded with David Bowie. Guitarist Toney “Wild T” Springer is one of the most respected Canadian blues-rock performers in our country. His trio Wild T & the Spirit will bring its blend of blues, reggae, and jazz to the Bassment stage along with opening act the Blue Mules. Tickets are $33 – $43.

Her music was my first taste of teen angst in the 90s and now the music of Alaniz Morrisette has been turned into a rock musical that’s touring the country. This is not just some jukebox musical as it deals with issues of consent, drug addiction and gender identity. The story follows a family that on the surface looks happy but each has a secret they’ve been hiding and it’s eating them up inside. This is a show that wowed audiences on Broadway and now you have a chance to see it on tour. Tickets are $45 – $120.

Who doesn’t like the idea of an all-inclusive?? Saskatoon’s wine & spirits festival Uncorked has an all-inclusive inspired event where you pay one ticket and you can sample the best beverage and food our region has to offer from more than 50 vendors. There will be charcuterie tables, culinary and mixology demos as well as plenty of entertainment over the two days. Tickets also include a $5 taxi ride voucher to help get you a safe ride home. Tickets are $125.

Begonia

Winnipeg music star Begonia is back in town on her Powder Blue Tour. She’s riding high on her recent recognition, making the top 10 for the Polaris Music Prize. She’s also a regular Juno nominee. Begonia has tons of fans here in Saskatoon and they were out in full force when she performed at the jazz festival this summer. Begonia is incredible in concert and she’s really funny in between songs. It will be a beautiful evening of music. Tickets are $37.
