Brit’s Picks Jan. 17 – 24

Shivering Strings West           Thurs. – Sun.

Various Venues

If you’re looking for a way to warm up these cold winter nights, the Shivering Strings celebration is just the thing you need. This is a celebration of old-time music that has been passed down through the generations. Over the next three days professional musicians like Daniel Koulack, Karrnnel Sawitsky and Gordon Stobbe will be performing and teaching what they know. It all started with the idea to hold a fiddle camp in the middle of winter and has now grown to classes, a Friday night jam session, a family dance party at St. Joseph’s Hall Saturday night and a finale concert for all the students on Sunday afternoon. Most events are free of charge and tickets to Saturday’s dance are $20.
