Heartfelt Tribute Tonight – Nov. 10
The Refinery
As Remembrance Day nears, many people are searching for ways to pay tribute to veterans and you have just that chance with Live Five Independent Theatre’s latest play. A Soldier’s War was inspired by the letters of Joshua Ramsden’s grandfather, a WWII veteran. The play follows 5 Canadian soldiers from their basic training to D-day and then as they return home. It’s a story of brotherhood, honour and the lasting effects of war. This production has toured across Canada and now it’s returning home. Tickets are $22 – $25.

Almost Paradise Nov. 7 – 11
Broadway Theatre
Whether you know this story from its Oscar and Tony winning soundtrack or you fell in love (like I did) with Kevin Bacon a long time ago, you’re going to love the Saskatoon Summer Players production of Footloose. The musical is a coming of age story of a teen who defies local authorities to bring dancing back to a small town after tragedy strikes. The SSP has taken this classic 80’s musical and set it in modern day starring Quinn Johner as the main heartthrob Ren McCormack. It’s your chance to sing along with all the tunes you know and love. Tickets are $24 – $34.
