The pride party keeps on going here in Saskatoon and you can celebrate with some of the top fashion designers and artists from right here on the Prairies. The Live In Colour Art and Fashion Show is a glamourous evening of fashion and art. There will also be dance performances by Club Mynx, SaskAcro and the Upstage Dance Co. Bring along your wallet in case there’s a piece you just can’t live without. Tickets are $20 – $40.

If you happened to be on the club scene in the early 2000s chances are you got your groove on to this guy. American singer, rapper and recording artist Akon has sold over 35 million albums worldwide. He’s currently working on a new album and an acting career. This weekend you can see him live on stage. Tickets are $50.

The Dark Side Saturday – June 24
Remai Arts Centre
It’s one of the most popular operas ever written and it’s Saskatoon Opera’s blockbuster summer show. Don Giovanni by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is the story of an arrogant and promiscuous nobleman who one by one alienates the people around him until it leads to his ultimate end. This is a passionate and powerful production and features performances by Saskatchewan vocalists Garry Gable, Emma Johnson and Brenden Friesen. The orchestra will be led by Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra conductor Eric Paetkau. Tickets for this show are $35 – $40.

Reconciliation & Roots June 21
Wannuskewin Heritage Park & Victoria Park
A full day of festivities is planned to mark National Aboriginal Day this year. A pow wow and round dance will be the centrepiece for celebrations out a Wannuskewin Heritage Park. The heritage site celebrations will also include cultural games as well as arts and cooking demonstrations. This celebration is perfect for the whole family. Inside Saskatoon, the celebrations kick off with the Rock Your Roots Walk for Reconciliation in Victoria Park. The afternoon will be filled with a delicious BBQ, games for the kids and mainstage entertainment. Both events are free but you’ll want to have some cash for food.
