The pride of Punnichy, Saskatchewan is back on the road with a new album and a new outlook. Jeffery Straker is in Saskatoon to launch his Dirt Road Confessional and to begin his Canadian tour. The new work is a celebration of the singer songwriter’s life on the road and his search for love and stability. Straker is known for his mastery of piano and of course for his big voice. Straker has a fantastic stage presence and tells some great stories from the stage. Tickets are $30.

Prairieland Park
It’s your chance to find that perfect patio drink. Whether you’re looking to sip on a finely crafted beer or make the right wine pairing, you can do it all at Top of the Hops – Grapes & Grains this weekend. The trade show boasts more than 200 beers, wines and spirits all ready for you to sample. There will also be plenty of tasty food pairings to sample as you wind your way through the show. This is a great date night or just a chance to hang with your friends. Tickets are $20 – $40.

Pop By To See Peppa Friday
Lawson Heights Mall
This one is sure to win you some brownie points with your toddler. Peppa Pig is stopping by Lawson Heights Mall for a special meet and greet with your kids. The cartoon, on Treehouse in Canada, follows the beloved Peppa and her family as she enjoys games, dressing up and playing with all her animal friends. The appearance is 12:00p.m. – 3:00p.m. and you can take plenty of pictures while you are there. This event is free.

Electronic Stylings Friday
Capitol Music Club
It’s a celebration of club culture and dance at the Capitol this weekend. DJs Michelle C and Kemical Reaction will be playing tracks that celebrate electronic music and are sure to get you up on the dance floor. Vision Drum and Bass will have the club booming and it’s the first time for the event in Saskatoon. Tickets are $12.

Holy Family Cathedral
It’s one of the largest choirs our city has and it’s members are as diverse as the music it offers. Joy of Vox is taking to the stage for its Sound of Living Skies concert. This is the annual Spring show and features pop, gospel and even doo wop tunes. These are shows for the whole family and tickets, at $15, are going fast.
