Shadow Wonders       Fri. – Apr. 23

The Refinery

Forget what you know about The Little Mermaid at least the cartoon movie. This is not a Disney show but the folks at Wide Open Theatre have taken the classic by Hans Christian Andersen and given it a new, magical spin. In A Little Mermaid: an unconventional re-tailing, our heroine is trying to fight pollution in her underwater home. She gives up her tail and voice to find out who’s responsible for all the destruction. This is full of the giant puppet magic we’ve come to expect from Wide Open Children’s Theatre and the extra twist of shadow puppetry. Just in time for Easter break the show opens this weekend and runs until the end of the break. It’s perfect for the whole family. Tickets are $10 – $15.

He’s released a new nine song collection of country ballads called Everywhere A Man Can Be. Take some time to soothe your soul with a concert. Tickets are $15 – $20.
