Play Premiere April 29 – May 15 Dancing Sky Theatre
It isn’t very often that we get a chance to see a world premiere of a play. That’s exactly the opportunity Dancing Sky Theatre and Gordon Tootoosis Nikaniwin Theatre are offering us. Popcorn Elder is a new play by Saskatoon playwrite Curtis Peeteetuce. The show centers around a father and son trying to rebuild their relationship after the son is released from prison. Popcorn Elder was inspired by a case of a fake shaman who held bogus sweat lodge ceremonies in Arizona in 2009. It’s a tale of small towns, spirituality and reconciliation. Dancing Sky is just a short drive East of Saskatoon. Tickets are $27 – $30
