If you were a child of the 80s or just love a retro jam, you’re gonna want tickets to catch Glass Tiger in Saskatoon. The Canadian rockers have had a huge run since forming in 1983 and went on to record hits like Don’t Forget Me When I’m Gone, Diamond Sun, and I‘m Still Searching. The band is out on the road for its This Island Earth tour. Tickets are $68 – $80.

It’s all there in the band bio for The Great Fuss. The Saskatoon band “pays homage to the pulsing piano and indelible electric guitar riffs of classic pop-rock. It makes sense that The Beatles would be on the top of their heroes list and this weekend they are paying homage to the Fab Four. The Great Fuss is an incredible party band and this tribute to John, Paul, George, & Ringo will be awesome. Tickets are $24 – $46.

You still have a couple of chances left to see Wonder City Collective’s premiere of Drew Mantyka’s play Rooftops. The story follows Emma as her secret place of solitude to read and write turns out to not be so secret after all. She meets a bunch of colourful characters as they invade her sanctuary. This show is part of the Live Five Independent Theatre season. Tickets are $27 – $32.

Take a trip through time and space with 25th Street Theatre’s Luna. Story of a young girl who builds a time machine in her dad’s garage to go back in time and unfreeze her mother. It’s a fantasy but also a story about how to grieve the loss of a loved one. This show has been on tour over the last couple of weeks performing shows in small town schools. This weekend they are back in Saskatoon and have three public performances for everyone to enjoy. Tickets are $14 – $27.

Symphonic Sci-Fi

You know the music the minute you hear it. The Imperial March from Star Wars, the theme song from E.T. for many of us the soundtracks of these films are what makes them so magical. The SSO will be performing songs from sci-fi adventures led by guest conductor Armand Birk and will be joined for a couple of pieces by the Saskatoon Youth Orchestra. Tickets are $74 – $99.

Parents always joke that their kids have just as much fun playing with the box as they do with the thing that comes inside the box. The puppeteers at Wide Open Children’s Theatre are playing with boxes and turning them into a magical show for children in SQUARE!. The possibilities are endless when you step outside the ordinary into a world of imagination with this crew. Tickets are $12 – $17.

The Bassment

Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Scott Nolan fuses his music and poetry into a super chill sound that will have you groovin. The Winnipeg musician has eight albums to his credit and his tunes have been recorded by artists like Hayes Carll and William Prince. Country folk artist Lachlan Neville will open the show. Tickets are $26 – $36.
