To say The Beach Boys are icons is an understatement. The band is one of the most critically acclaimed of all time with over 100 million records sold worldwide. They’ve influenced countless artists and their album Pet Sounds was ranked No. 2 in Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of all time. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and received a lifetime achievement award from the Grammys. The tour features founding members Mike Love and Bruce Johnston. You still have a few chances left to see the final production in the Greystone Theatre season is set to hit the stage. Mother’s Daughter by Kate Henning is the third part to the playwright’s Queenmaker Series where she takes a deep dive into the lives of women connected to Henry VIII. In this production Mary I is pulled between mercy and strength as she scrambles to keep her kingdom in order. Mary is set to take the crown after the death of Edward VI and she’s visited by her mother who questions the motives of others around her including her loved ones.  Should she scramble to find a husband and produce an heir or should she punish those who oppose her like her father did? Tickets are $17 – $22.

If you’re a fan, you’ll want to head to the Broadway Theatre for a show that tells the story of CCR through story, music and a multi-media experience that’s sure to please. The final show of the La Troupe du Jour season is hitting the stage this weekend. Crawlspace, produced by the Théâtre français de Toronto explores the dark side of real estate in this Kafkaesque comedy, is performed in French with English surtitles. The performance takes a grim look at Toronto’s cruel and zany real estate industry. Tickets are $15 – $30.

Canadian comedian Jessi Cruickshank is out on the road with an all new comedy tour. Now That’s What I Call Live is a show for those of us who grew up in the 90s without cell phones and a healthy dose of spray tans and low rise jeans.  We grew up with Jessi on tv hosting shows on MTV and The Hills After Show with Dan Levy.  She started her career as par of an improv troupe alongside other comedy stars like Nathan Fielder and Seth Rogan. Her live shows are huge and she’s coming back for more laughs. Tickets are $48.

The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra takes to the stage this weekend with Pictures at an Exhibition. This performance is a special one for guest pianist Meagan Milatz. She grew up in Saskatchewan, on a farm near Weyburn, was classmates with guest conductor Karl Hirzer, and will be performing Saskatchewan composer David L. McIntyre’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra. This will be an incredible evening of music. Tickets are $32 – $100. The performance will also be available online at ConcertStream.tv.

American country musician Scotty McCreery shot to fame after winning American Idol in 2011 and he’s been growing his career ever since. Last year he reached a major milestone becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry. McCreery is out on the road in support of his latest album Rise & Fall.
