The McClure Players have a colourful treat ready for you this weekend at the company performs Seussical. This musical is a comedy mashup or some of Dr. Seuss’ most famous tales. The cast is made up of musical theatre enthusiasts from right here in the city. You’re bound to know a few of them. You can enjoy the full dinner theatre experience in the evenings or take in two show only performances Friday and Saturday afternoon. Burnt Thicket Theatre has a new play by Yvette Nolan waiting for you. The Unplugging is a post-apocalyptic tale set in what used to be Saskatchewan. When all modern technology has failed, two women are forced to make their way across the prairie with only traditional wisdom to help them survive. Then a charismatic stranger appears and they have to decide whether or not to share what they know. Tickets are $27 – $32.

Grab the kids and head to the theatre for an underwater adventure. Saskatoon’s So.Glad Arts presents the world premiere of S.E. Grummett’s The Adventure of Young Turtle. This show combines large-scale puppetry with original music to bring the tale of a young turtle who feels stuck between land and sea. They set out on a quest of self-discovery meeting other sea creatures along the way. This is a story of bravery, strength, community, and kindness. It’s a beautiful and joyful way to learn about gender and queerness. Tickets are $15 – $20.

Canadian country soul singer Jeremie Albino is out on the road for the Our Time In The Sun tour and he’s stopping in our city. The album was produced by The Black Key’s Dan Auerbach and recorded in Nashville. Albino has been performing across Canada and getting rave reviews. Tickets are $24 – $46.

Juno award winner Steve Hill is considered one of our country’s most prolific guitarists and his out on the road in support of his latest album Hanging On A String. The Lost Birds

The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra is celebrating a major milestone for its concertmaster. Violinist Michael Swan has been in the role for 40 seasons. That’s more than any other concertmaster in Canada. Swan will be the featured performer at The Lost Birds as he takes to the stage for a performance of Henri Wieniawski’s Violin Concerto No. 1, Op. 14. Also on the program is Ryan Trew’s Come Closer and Christopher Tin’s Grammy nominated work The Lost Birds. The haunting tribute to bird species driven to extinction by man will be performed by the orchestra and a full choir made up of members from the Greystone Singers and Aurora Voce led by guest conductor Evan Mitchell. Tickets are $49 – $100 and this performance will also be available on ConcertStream.tv.

She’s back! One of the most powerful, soulful voices in Canada is out on the road. R&B superstar Jully Black rose to stardom with hits like Sweat of Your Brow and Seven Day Fool. She hasn’t toured since 2008 and now she’s back on the road with her Songs & Stories tour. Black is dedicating the tour to her mom and it promises to be an incredible evening. Tickets are $45.
