Enchanting Tale       Now – May 25

Persephone Theatre

It’s becoming the hottest ticket in town! Persephone Theatre is closing its 2017/2018 season with the adaptation of Jane Austen’s story Pride and Prejudice. The show has already been held over twice, even before its opening. This story may have been written 200 years ago but it still has audiences falling in love with the strong-headed, independent Elizabeth Bennet and her mishaps and misunderstandings while falling for the dashing Mr. Darcy. I’ve seen sneak peeks on social media and this show will be a beautiful presentation from beginning to end. Tickets are $26 – $46.

Childhood Classics          Saturday

Broadway Theatre

They are stories that are heard all over the world at bedtime. Margaret Wise Brown’s Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny have been a tradition in many families with small children and now through the magic of theatre, they are coming to life on stage. Persephone Theatre has partnered with The Mermaid Theatre out of Nova Scotia to bring this show to the prairies. Both stories are presented through the magic of puppetry. It’s a great afternoon out for everyone young and old. Tickets are $15.

Trio Triumph         Saturday

TCU Place

The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra is going out on a high note this weekend with Canada’s Gryphon Trio. This is much more than just a performance for this Juno-award-winning group.  The musicians have spent the last year working with students at St. Mary’s Wellness and Education Centre as part of the Kitohcikewin – Listen Up! program. The students and their mentors will present a finale concert for the community on Thursday night. Then The Gryphon Trio will wow crowds with a performance of Beethoven’s triple concerto at TCU Place. Tickets for Saturday’s show are $25 – $73.
