The Kohkoms of Gordon Tootoosis Nīkānīwin Theatre’s The Rez Christmas series are back for another adventure. This show is a favourite with audiences and as the writer Curtis Peeteetuce likes to say, it’s like if the Golden Girls was set on the reservation. This year’s adventures sees the Kohkoms head off to Sin City to take part in the world’s largest Bingo game and maybe even meet their heartthrob Tom Jones. Vegas Vacation: A Rez Christmas Story  is fun for the whole family. Tickets are $15 – $20.

One listen to the music of Swift Current’s own Colter Wall and it’s hard to deny the similarities to the hard living music of icons like Johnny Cash. This young man has wowed the country and blues music scene here in North America with his songs of hard living, drinking and heartbreak. Wall is out on the road on an exhaustive North American tour supporting his first full length album and he’s stopping in Saskatoon for a pair of dates. Officially these shows are sold out but stay tuned to social media and you may just be able to snap up a ticket or two. Tickets are $25.

Piano Prowess         Friday

The Bassment

It’s a chance to celebrate some of the best musicians our city has to offer, and do it all for a good cause. The Bassment is holding the Saskatoon Food Bank Pianothon once again. Artists like Neil Currie, Bonnie Nicholson and Ross Nykiforuk will all be tickling the ivories at this come and go, all ages event. The music all starts at 4:30 p.m. and it wraps at 11 p.m. This is a great chance to take your kids down to The Bassment, listen to some great music and give back. Getting in the door is simple, just bring two nonperishable food items OR a $10 donation to the food bank.

It’s Inconceivable        Saturday

A movie that enchanted a generation is back on the big screen in honour of its 30th Anniversary. The Princess Bride is a story full of romance, villains and plenty of comedy. Join poor farm boy Westley as he battles giants, swordsmen and an evil prince to win the heart of Princess Buttercup. This is a great chance to introduce your kids to this classic film. Tickets are $8 – $10.

Decade of Cheer       Saturday

Beautiful harmonies and holiday favourites abound in this musical show. The Good Lovelies are a Canadian country folk trio that have been out spreading their music and Christmas spirit across the country the last two months.  This is a chance to sing along and just enjoy an evening of togetherness. Tickets are $36.
