Gone Country        Today – Sunday

Various Venues

Saskatoon has gone country this week as the biggest party on the music scene, Canadian Country Music Week hits town. Stars like Saskatchewan’s own Jess Moskaluke will perform, meet fans and hob nob their way through some of the industry’s biggest names. This of course is all in the lead up to the big awards show Sunday night. There are still plenty of tickets left for all events and it’s going to be a great time.

Thursday – Saturday evenings don’t miss the Songwriters’ Series at TCU  Place. This event will feature artists as they talk about the inspiration behind their songs and perform them for you. This event is $30.

Friday there’s a CCMA Legends show  at TCU Place featuring artists like Paul Brandt, Patricia Conroy and Ian Tyson. Tickets are $45. There’s also the Rock’n Country Cabaret with artists like Chad Brownlee and The Road Hammers taking the stage. Those tickets cost $30 and the party is at Prairieland Park.

Saturday you get a chance to get up close and personal with the stars at FanFest. This is a completely free event at Prairieland Park with artists like Gord Bamford, Brett Kissel and Meghan Patrick all in attendance. You can grab that autograph and of course, a great selfie.

Sunday is all about the awards show and the lead up. Show up early (1:00p.m.) at SaskTel Centre for the Countdown Concert. It’s a free concert where you can see artists like Aaron Pritchett, Alee and Cold Creek County live. The concert ends just in time for the John Deere Green Carpet where you can see your favourite stars arrive to the awards. The Canadian Country Music Awards show begins at 5:00p.m. Ladies, this is where you’ll get a chance to see superstar Blake Shelton. The awards are pre-taped to be aired at 8:00p.m. on CBC TV. Tickets for the CCMAs are $42 – $120.

Amigos Cantina

I love any party where all ages are welcome and this is a fantastic opportunity to take the kids out for the afternoon. Burn off all that energy with a family dance party at Amigos Cantina. Think about it the kids get a chance to get their face painted and then hit the dance floor. The music will be pumping with the help of Dr. J and DJ Fudge. Tickets are free for the kiddos and adults pay $5.
