Hello from Hedley May 5 SaskTel Centre
They’ve become a powerhouse of pop. Vancouver based Hedley is out on a world tour promoting its new album Hello. This show is sure to be high energy and a great one to take your teens to. The supporting acts are accomplished as well. Carley Rae Jepson and Francesco Yates will open the show. Tickets are between $35 – $75
Lovable Latin May 6 The Underground Cafe
This is a local band not to be missed. Regina’s Andino Suns blends Latin rhythms with rock and roll sensibilities for an amazing musical experience. These guys have a Gypsy Kings vibe to them and they are just the antidote if life has got you down. The group has been nominated for Western Canadian Music Award or it’s album It’s Time to Rise. They are definitely on their way up in our local music scene. You can see them live in the intimate setting of the Underground Café. Tickets are $16
A-May-Zing Time May 5 & 6 The Refinery
Why should adults get all the rock concerts? If you’ve got young ones, Sylvia Chave’s A-May-Zing Fling is just the show for you. Chave’s got plenty of songs to sing along and dance to. Your kids will love her costumes and this show has got some special back up singers as well. Disney Princess’ Anna and Elsa will be there to perform. Tickets are $7-$9 and children 2 and under are free.
Cultural Extravaganza May 7 Prairieland Park
Celebrate the colour, pageantry and yes, food of the Ukrainian culture and one of the biggest parties of the year. Vesna is back and this year commemorating the 125th Anniversary of the Ukrainian immigration to Canada. There will be performances by groups like the Yevshan Folk Ballet Ensemble and the Pavlechenko Folklorique Ensemble. There will be crafts for the kids and an aritsan’s market. It’s fun for the whole family and… perogies! Tickets are $25 – $45.
